JTYAF Helps Island Community Action Expand Duke of Edinburgh Opportunities in Dorset

The JTYAF is proud to support the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Dorset, helping more young people access opportunities that build confidence, resilience and valuable life skills. Through their DofE journey, participants are encouraged to take on new challenges, follow their passions and discover talents they may never have realised they had.

As part of this ongoing commitment, the JTYAF has recently provided funding to Island Community Action, based in Portland, to purchase tents and camping stoves. This essential equipment will help the organisation grow its DofE programme and support young people from some of the most deprived communities in Dorset.

Having delivered DofE for the past four years, Island Community Action is now looking to strengthen its provision at Silver Award level. JTYAF support will help ensure that young people from all backgrounds can take part, develop communication, commitment, leadership and teamwork skills, and enjoy experiences that can positively shape their futures.
