Gorsemoor Scouts Set Sail for a Weekend of Adventure

Gorsemoor Scouts are preparing for an exciting sailing weekend with the Discovery Sailing Project, thanks to support from the JTYAF. Funding has been provided to help eight Scouts, aged 11 to 14, take part in this memorable opportunity, and for many of them it will be their very first experience of sailing.
During the weekend, the Scouts will learn a wide range of practical skills, including water safety, navigation, rules at sea, and how to rescue and care for someone in difficulty. The experience will be led by qualified instructors from the Discovery Sailing Project at the Scout-run yachting training school based at Hamble.
As well as enjoying time on the water, the Scouts will work towards RYA qualifications and a range of Scout badges, helping them build confidence, teamwork and valuable life skills. We are delighted to support Gorsemoor Scouts and hope they have a fantastic weekend of adventure, learning and discovery.
