Stair Master Challenge

Huge thanks to Adam, Will, Tom and Pete for taking on the Stairmaster Challenge on Sunday 16 August in support of John’s Foundation. They’ll be tackling 3,586 floors at Ferndown Leisure Centre, one floor for each member of the coalition forces lost in Afghanistan, and aim to finish in under 10½ hours. This is a cruelling challenge, demanding effort that requires real stamina and commitment. The challenge honours John Thornton, who died aged 22 on 30 March 2008, and stands as a powerful tribute to his memory and the sacrifices of others.

The effort continues on Monday 17 August: everyone is invited to join in and add as many floors as possible to the total, whether by taking turns on the machine or contributing in other ways. We’re incredibly grateful to the team for their dedication and hope many people will show their support by donating to their JustGiving page to help the foundation continue its work.

Thanks must also go to Ferndown Leisure Centre for hosting this event and Sharrd Energy Services Ltd who have kindly sponsored the team.
