A huge congratulations to Adam, Tom, Will and Pete for completing their extraordinary StairMaster Challenge — they reached their target of 3,586 floors in under 10 hours!

The four men undertook this challenge in tribute to the 3,586 Coalition Forces personnel who lost their lives in Afghanistan, including John Thornton. Determined and resilient throughout, each completed four sets of 200 floors, then pushed on to finish the final 96 floors needed to reach the goal. Their effort stands as a fitting tribute to the fallen.

Not only did they achieve an outstanding physical feat, but they have also raised an incredible £2,500 for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation.

A big thank you to Ferndown Leisure Centre who not only hosted the event but also organised an extremely generous donation of £1000 from their parent company Places for People. This made a huge contribution to the total amount raised and we really can’t thank them enough.

Thanks must also go to Sharrd Energy for their kind donation and for sponsoring the team shirts and to the Skip Factory who also made a generous donation.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, encouraged and supported them along the way. The generosity shown by friends, family and supporters has been truly amazing.

The funds raised will make a real difference to the opportunities we are able to provide for local young people in the coming months, helping them to pursue their ambitions, overcome barriers and achieve their potential.

This challenge was about so much more than climbing floors. It was an opportunity to pay tribute to the fallen of Afghanistan, honour John's memory, and help keep his legacy alive through the work of the Foundation.

To Adam, Tom, Will and Pete, thank you. Your commitment, effort and support have been outstanding, and we can't thank you enough.
