The JTYAF was delighted to be selected as the 50th charity and good cause in Dorset to receive a Carbon Stoppers' donation from Yellow Buses.

The 50th donation was a special landmark for Yellow Buses and they kindly awarded double the normal amount which saw a fantastic £500 presented to Linda and Pete Thornton at Yellow Buses' depot in Yeomans Way, Bournemouth.   Yellow Buses Carbon Stoppers has now donated a total of more than £12,000 to good causes since 2008 which is a brilliant achievement.

Each week Yellow Buses holds a ‘Thank You Thursday’ when every trip taken by passengers on the day contributes to a separately administered Community Chest.  The bus company has pledged a minimum donation of £50 per week to the Carbon Stoppers fund with Daily Echo readers invited to nominate worthy recipients.  Jenni Wilkinson, Yellow Buses' Head of Marketing, said: "The response to Carbon Stoppers has been beyond our wildest dreams. What began as a way of encouraging more people to cut down on their carbon footprint by using the bus has ended up making a real difference to 50 local charities and good causes.  I'm very proud of what has been achieved and thank our wonderful passengers, as well as the Daily Echo, for their constant support over the last five years."

The JTYAF would like to thank Yellow Buses and their passengers together with the Daily Echo readers who kindly nominated the JTYAF.  £500 will make a huge difference to the opportunities that we are able to provide for local young people this year.
