The Air Training Corps are Training Leaders

The Dorset and Wilts Wing Air Training Corps Training and Development Squadron (TDS) provides a range of courses aimed at developing leadership and other personal skills for cadets across the Wing.

The aim is to support their development in a way that will benefit them during their cadet service and in their futures whether in service or in civilian careers.    In order to deliver quality training it is essential to have suitable equipment to provide challenging and repeatable leadership exercises and the TDS has only a small amount of relevant equipment which limits the numbers of cadets they can train.  With funding from the JTYAF the TDS has been able to increase the quantity of kit which will give training opportunities to many more cadets and the equipment will also be used for both Regional and Wing activities.

Assessment and feedback is a key aspect of support in the cadets development and the lack of IT resources has made this increasingly difficult.  In order to improve the quality of feedback given to cadets the TDS has improved their IT resources and their IT capability which has also been funded by the JTYAF.

The trustees of the JTYAF are delighted to support this project which will increase the training opportunities available throughout the Wing.
