Annabel Macklin is working towards her Duke of Edinburgh's Gold award and has been selected to attend the Sound and Music Summer School at the Purcell School of Music.

One of only seventy five talented young composers to be offered this life changing opportunity. This UK residential course is the only one of it's kind and will provide an inspiring and intensive week full of collaboration, fun, learning and creativity and complete the residential element of Annabels D of E assessment.

Summer School gives young composers the opportunity to work with composers and musicians from a wide variety of musical traditions, from classical and jazz to world and new media.  Annabel plays the clarinet and has already performed at the Royal Albert Hall with the County Youth Orchestra.  Annabel has identified her objectives for the course, "I really want to develop my musicianship by developing my ambitions as a composer as well as a performer and would really love to be able to write something good enough for the school orchestra or band to play."
