The JTYAF has been awarded over £5000 from the Co-op Local Community Fund! The Ferndown Gateway Club also received a similar amount so the local community will benefit by over £10,000!

We are extremely grateful to all the members of the Dorset County Ladies Indoor Bowling Association who kindly selected John's Foundation as their Charity of the Year for 2016/17.

Junior Leaders Course 18 raises £20,000 for the JTYAF! This is an incredible achievement and takes the total amount raised by Junior Leaders since 2010 to an unbelievable £115,000!

The JTYAF was honoured to have been chosen by Wimborne Rotary Club as one of the charities to benefit from a Gala Charity Night with guest speaker, Sportsman and TV Presenter, Bob Wilson.

Massive thanks to Paul Hooker and all at the Cinnamon Lounge for a fantastic curry evening last night. The food was plentiful and delicious and an amazing £512 was raised.

A huge thank you to Colin Fionda and all at St James's Place Foundation for an amazing £1000 donation awarded by the local committee.

Bournemouth School Combined Cadet Force Band raised an incredible £900 for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation with just two performances.

The JTYAF was privileged to be invited into Sainsbury's Ferndown as their Charity Partner on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. It was a fantastic three days which really brought the local community together for one great cause - to help local young people.

'Is it true what they say about Christmas' is a beautiful song released by the children's choir at Wimborne St Giles First School and is available to buy on CD.

The Best of British Party organised by JTYAF Trustee, Joe Barnett, together with his wife Mel and Lucy and Gary Wooding is now an annual event and a great favourite at Parkstone Yacht Club.

Cobham Mission Systems Charity Committee has really helped the JTYAF to make a difference with a fantastic donation of £5128.43!  Huge thanks to Cobham for their generosity which will be used towards the 5 year lease of the JTYAF 16 seater mini bus. 

Peter Lemon is a bit of a machine when it comes to running and we were absolutely delighted when he took on the Bournemouth Marathon for the JTYAF raising a fantastic £125.

The success of the JTYAF has only been made possible by our trustees, volunteers, donors and supporters. It's been a team effort. The support we received at our Sainsbury's collecting day recently, just shows what can be achieved when we all work together. 

The JTYAF was thrilled to be invited to a presentation event with Exxon Mobil at their Fawley Refinery. 

Emily and Simon Brown took on the challenge of climbing all the Welsh mountains over 3000 feet in 24 hours to raise money for charity.  The JTYAF was delighted to be one of them.

The Dorset Plane Pull 2016 was a great event, definitely the best yet and the JTYAF had an amazing day!  Stig's Boys & Midas Men pulled in 33.25 seconds which made them runners up for the second year in a row for the teams of 20 and Team Tythorn came in a very respectable seventh, with 36.02.

The sun was certainly shinning on the JTYAF for their 8th VIP Hopspitality Day at the Bournemouth Air Festival.  Guests enjoyed a fantastic flying programme which included the Red Arrows, the Sally B Flying Fortress, the Typhoon, the Blades, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and many more.
