Pete and Linda Thornton were absolutely delighted when Maggie Tomlin told them that the JTYAF had been selected by staff and residents at Amberwood House as their Charity of the Year for 2014. 

Matthew Quinn, an ambassador of the JTYAF and his friend Neil Sutherland organised a Black Tie Charity Dinner in September 2013 and raised over £10,000 for the JTYAF and Maggie's Cancer Centres.  

The JTYAF were honoured to have been chosen by the Royal Society of St George, East Dorset Branch as one of their recipient charities of the year for 2013. 

Adam Plant went one step further than growing a mustache for Movember.  Adam cultivated a beard from October 2012 to May 2013 to raise funds for the JTYAF. 

The JTYAF were honoured to have been chosen by Greendale Construction Limited as one of the recipient charities to benefit from their Annual Charity Raffle at last year's Christmas Party.  

The trustees of the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation (JTYAF) are delighted to announce that £70,000 has been allocated for awards to local young people for 2014. The charity has expanded to include three additional youth organisations making JTYAF funding available to many more young people.

The “Strouden Blues” - Ward Councillors John Adams, JohnTrickett and Michael Weinhonig have recorded a Christmas CD  for charity with the Townsend Youth Project.

Graeme Bridger the Manager of Motorbitz in Ferndown is kindly offering cost price car registration plates which are customised with the JTYAF logo and offer a great opportunity to promote the charity.  

Sarah has teamed up with the JTYAF and has kindly offered to donate any profits on sales made through the charity. 

We are sooooooo excited because for the first time ever a Christmas single has been released as a download with all net profits kindly being donated to the JTYAF.

Wimborne & Ferndown Lions Club President, Frank Fortey, presented a cheque for £2500 to the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation. 

Paulette Winwood is a consultant for the organic skin care company Neal's Yard Remedies and would like to promote their Christmas gifts to the local community and help raise money for JTYAF.  

We were honoured to have been chosen as the focus of a volunteering project,  by students from the National Citizenship Course at Bournemouth and Poole College.   

Wimborne and Ferndown Lions Club certainly know how to put on a Quiz Night and on Thursday 3rd October they did just that.   

We were so pleased to have such fantastic support for the JTYAF at this years inaugural Bournemouth Marathon Festival.   We had 10 runners in the Marathon, 3 in the Half Marathon, 3 in the 10K and 8 in the 5K, which was a brilliant achievement for a small local charity.  

Lottie Gilbert and her family recently organised an Afternoon Tea at their home in Ferndown, raising £720 for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation and Help for Heroes.

Bank Holiday Monday was a fantastic day for the 5th Dorset Plane Pull.  With blue skies and wall to wall sunshine the crowds just kept coming and it was the most successful Plane Pull to date.

The Bank Holiday weekend saw Royal Marine Richie Puttock smash his one man, non stop rowing challenge completing 150,000 metres in 11 3/4 hours. 

The JTYAF Hospitality Day at the Bournemouth Air Festival was a resounding success raising over £8000 for the foundation.  This was the result of a great deal of hard work and also the fantastic support received from so many local businesses and friends of the JTYAF.
