The JTYAF has recently awarded bursaries to 3 students from Christchurch Learning Centre to help them to take a step on the journey towards achieving their ambitions.

The JTYAF recently funded an expedition to Ghana where eight Qualified Air Cadet Junior Leaders (QJL's) spent three weeks working with the UK based charity Village by Village.

Six students from Victoria Education Centre, many of whom have life limiting conditions, have been given a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Florida in 2017.

A dedicated young student from Ferndown Middle School has received a year’s worth of trumpet lessons to continue her passion of music.

A young Girl Guide from Wimborne District Guides is set to complete her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award with a little help from the JTYAF in achieving the expedition section.

Simon is pursing an exciting career working with animals and is currently studying at Sparsholt College in Winchester. As part of his course he is taking part in an educational trip to South Africa in May 2016 where he will be working alongside vets and rangers in Kruger Park and Maholoholo.

A young cadet from the Dorset and Wiltshire Air Cadet wing has been selected to attend the International Air Cadet Exchange in Canada.

The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation (JTYAF) has  handed over the keys to a 16 seater minibus which will serve Ferndown Upper School, Ferndown Middle School, West Moors Middle School, Beaucroft Foundation School, Ferndown First School, Parley First School, Hampreston First School and 2358 (Ferndown) Squadron Air Cadets.

Talented taekwondo champ Thomas has been training since the age of 4 and is ranked number 1 in Great Britain for his age. The JTYAF is proud to be able to sponsor his next adventure at the British Internationals in Germany. 

The JTYAF is very pleased to help a young Brownie’s dream come true to visit Disneyland Paris with the rest of her division.

Megan has been selected to represent Great Britain in Estonia next month for the Junior Women’s team in her first international powerlifting competition known as the EPF Classic. 

A teenager from Ferndown is set to travel to Peru in July 2017 with a group of students from Ringwood School, organised by Camps International. 

Pete Thornton was delighted to present the John Thornton Music Awards to eight talented musicians from the Dorset Music Service County Ensembles.
