JTYAF support is helping an outstanding 16-year-old combine an ambitious sporting challenge with important community work

In October, our 16-year-old award winner will travel to Sierra Leone to take part in a half marathon and contribute to community projects with Street Child. The JTYAF is delighted to support this inspiring journey by contributing towards his accommodation and airport transfer costs.

Street Child works alongside local organisations in more than 20 of the world’s lowest-income and most disaster-affected countries, helping children gain access to education. During his visit, our award winner will spend time with community-led school projects in remote areas, learning about their work and supporting efforts to create better opportunities for local children.

By combining a demanding sporting challenge with hands-on community involvement, he hopes to make a positive difference for children who do not have the same opportunities he has enjoyed. We are proud to support his ambition and wish him every success as he prepares for this memorable and life changing experience.
