We recently received this lovely email from a parent of one of our John Thornton Music Award winners who was presented with her award back in 2010.
“I am currently packing to move house and have come across an article regarding the financial award that you gave my daughter in 2010 that enabled her to buy a full sized drum kit.
We are forever indebted to you as it was not just the financial reward that helped J but also the story behind the award about your son which inspired and motivated J to work for her dream to study music in the US.
J went on to win a full tuition scholarship to study music at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA in 2014. She completes her degree next month before returning to start the Global Jazz Masters programme at Berklee in September which she was also awarded a full tuition scholarship for.
Thank you so much for your support in helping J on her journey to realise her dream!”
