On Friday 15th August the Ferndown Fit Camp guys, Tom Huntley,  Richie Puttock, Mark Ormrod  and Mark Williams (pictured left to right above) ran a one hour session to raise funds for the JTYAF.  Ferndown Fit Camp is run by Richie, a serving Royal Marines Commando and some of his former Royal Marine and French Foreign Legionnaire buddies. The one hour session for the JTYAF was all about fun with a bit of PT for good measure!   There were however a few little surprises thrown in - carrying ammunition tins called for great concentration because if you got the colour wrong you had to give the guys 10.  10 press-ups that is!

Everyone threw themselves into the session, regulars and newbies alike and after the fun and laughter there was time for reflection.   At the Memorial in the Ferndown Millennium Gardens the Last Post was played, which represents a final farewell to the fallen and Mark Ormrod laid a wreath in remembrance of JT.  Mark was serving with 40 Commando Royal Marines in Afrghanistan on the same tour as John and sustained his injuries on Christmas Eve 2007.  Mark is an absolute inspiration to everyone who meets him and you can read his journey from Royal Marine Commando to Motivational Speaker on his website.

After the 'phys,' re-hydration at the Angel Inn was the next order of the day.  The Fit Camp members are a great bunch and were definitely not going to miss the opportunity for a few well deserved 'wets' (Royal Marine slang for drinks) and a bit of a social.

It was a great night, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who took part and a fantastic £334.40 was raised for John's foundation.  We would like to thank the Ferndown Fit Camp crew, Richie, Tom, Mark and Mark for putting on this special session for the JTYAF and also a big thank you to all those who took part and supported the charity so generously.

For Richie and Mark it didn't end there!  The next day they were up at 6am and ready to start their JT350 Challenge at Sainsbury's in Ferndown.
