Music to our ears

A trio of local young people are using their grant to support a dynamic media project in Poole working with the Musical Director of St Peter’s Church in Parkstone to create a music video to be released for Christmas 2015.

The volunteers are working with a group of disadvantaged young people to work with professionals in creating props to plan, create and film a music video which will be released later this year.

The project aims to give the young people an insight into working in the creative arts industry including managing budgets, meeting deadlines, working within a team and creating PR for the launch.  The team will also learn valuable skills such as using professional lighting, production and filming.

Part 1 of the project involved working with local builders and engineers to design and build a giant wreath to hang in the centre of St Peter’s Church during the Christmas services in 2015 which over 1,500 people are expected to attend from the local area.

Part 2 of the project is to professionally write and record a song and music video to share virally on social media during the festive season to inspire the local community and build confidence and share skills with the young people involved.

There will be a live performance during December 2015.

We can’t wait to see the finished video!
