Fly Fishing Day Nets over £500 for the JTYAF!

The 4th Fly Fishing Event organised by Paul Hooker in support of John’s Foundation (JTYAF) raised an amazing £501! Paul organised the entire day, provided the BBQ and the prizes for the heaviest bag and heaviest fish. It was a great team effort for lunch with contributions from Bruv, Sue, and Martin and Paul’s hot dogs with a sprinkling of naga chilli were just the best!

Holbury Lakes Trout Fishery was the perfect location.  It’s such a beautiful tranquil setting and the charity was lucky to have sole use of the lakes for their event.  The JTYAF would like to thank everyone who took part for their kindness and generosity, with thanks to those who made donations both before and at the event. Special thanks must go to George and Holbury Lakes for making this day possible.

The lakes were well stocked and the seventeen fisherman who took part caught 56 trout between them with a 4 pounder netted as the heaviest fish. Liz, a complete novice, won the heaviest bag with 9lb 14 oz.   Everyone had a fabulous day and raised a lot of money for a great cause in the process!

We’ll be back next year so if you’d like to join us please get in touch.
