The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation  has been supported by a lovely team of Barclays Volunteers since 2009 and the total Matched Funding donated by Barclays has reached an incredible £40,000!

This funding has made a huge difference to the opportunities that the charity has been able to provide for local young people and there could be no better venue to mark this achievement than Barclays Eagle Lab in Bournemouth. The JTYAF invests in young people and Barclays is investing in the community too by providing this great resource available for everybody to grow their ideas and businesses.

Ferndown Upper School has been supported by the JTYAF since 2009 and a group of students were invited to join the celebrations at the Eagle Lab.  After a problem-solving activity they were able to use the 3D printer and laser cutter and see first-hand the great tech and support

Di Trott, Corporate Banking Manager at Barclays, is a great friend of the charity and very much part of the team. She commented, “It’s been an absolute pleasure working together with Pete and Linda as they help local young people reach for their goals and achieve their dreams. We're very proud to have been able to contribute over £40,000 towards that valuable work over the years and look forward to supporting them into the future.”

Pete Thornton, JTYAF Chairman, added that, “Everyone at the JTYAF is truly grateful to Barclays for their volunteer help and fund matching. We have a lot of fun together too. We don’t call them the A Team for nothing!”
