Success for the Boscombe Youth Fiddle Orchestra

The Boscombe Youth Fiddle Orchestra, proudly supported by the JTYAF, achieved remarkable success at this year’s Bournemouth Performing Arts Competition, which is now celebrating its 95th season.

Performing at the historic Freemasons’ Hall in Bournemouth on Saturday, 10th May, the orchestra excelled by dominating all four ensemble categories—starter, progressive, intermediate, and advanced—securing first place in every single division.

Additionally, four talented John Thornton Music Scholars competed individually in the Strings Solo Class for grades 6 and 7, with Adam emerging as the outstanding winner. This event also marked a special occasion—the first time the young musicians were able to proudly wear their new t-shirts, featuring the JTYAF logo and designed by our very own Emily.
