Rebecca Represents the South West in Japan

Rebecca Elfes has been selected as one of only 18 Girl Guides to represent the South West at the World Scout Jamboree in Japan this July.

Rebecca is a member of Corfe Mullen Guides and also volunteers as a young leader with Brownies.  She has worked extremely hard to raise money to cover the cost of the trip and the JTYAF is delighted to provide funding to help with the purchase of equipment and clothing.

Rebecca will be joining 30,000 Scouts from around the world and will be staying with a host family in Yamaguchi, Japan.  This trip will provide a unique opportunity for Rebecca to develop many skills and learn about different cultures and beliefs.  As 2015 is the 70th anniversary of the atomic bombing of cities in Japan, she will have the chance to visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and museum.

This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for Rebecca and we look forward to hearing about her experiences.
