The JTYAF was honoured to receive a High Sheriff’s Award at the recent Fete on the Field event in Ferndown. Callum Bremner, the High Sheriff of Dorset, selected the JTYAF for this award in recognition of the voluntary work the charity undertakes with young people in Dorset, and as a token of appreciation for their dedication. The award was presented to Pete and Linda Thornton, Charity Trustees Maurice Patterson and Mark Berry, and Charity Ambassador Nathan Way.

He acknowledged the charity’s strong commitment to supporting young people and highlighted the lasting impact it has on their lives. He concluded his speech with:

So in the spirit of why the High Sheriff Award exists, and that was to recognise those that go above and beyond, I am incredibly happy to award you with a High Sheriff Award on behalf of his Majesty the King in recognition of your exceptional contributions to Dorset and its many young people, and to honour your son John Thornton.
— Calum Bremner, High Sheriff of Dorset

We are extremely grateful to the High Sheriff of Dorset for this award and would like to sincerely thank all of our trustees, ambassadors, volunteers, and supporters, as it recognises the invaluable support of everyone who helps the JTYAF to continue to do its important and impactful work with young people.
