Aspiring historians often dream of stepping into the places where history was made. Thanks to a JTYAF bursary, a dedicated 16-year-old student from Ferndown Upper School is turning this dream into reality by joining the Year 13 History Department’s trip to Berlin.

This outstanding educational experience includes visits to iconic sites such as the Reichstag, the Olympic Stadium, the Holocaust Memorial in central Berlin, Oranienburg-Sachsenhausen concentration camp, the old East Berlin TV tower, and the Brandenburg Gate. Each location offers a unique perspective on pivotal moments in world history, making the trip an unforgettable highlight for any student.

Our award winner, who is aiming for an A* at A-Level with hopes of attending university, will benefit greatly from this opportunity. The chance to explore these significant landmarks first-hand will not only deepen his understanding of historical events but also inspire him as he works towards achieving his academic and personal ambitions.
