Gorsemoor Scouts Take to the Water

In 2024, a team of Gorsemoor Scouts successfully crewed a Clipper yacht during an exhilarating overnight race across the channel to Poole Harbour, where they achieved a remarkable finish in first place! This impressive acheivement has inspired many other members of the pack to take full advantage of the exciting opportunities available to them, encouraging them to take to the water and explore their potential.
The JTYAF has played a significant role by contributing to the cost of twelve Royal Yachting Association courses that have been booked with Poole Sea Scouts, which include the Powerboat Level 1 certification and a two-day Youth Dinghy Sailing course. We are truly delighted to support the scouts in their endeavors and are eager to hear all about their experiences on the water.
