A talented 10-year old student at Ferndown Middle School has been awarded a grant to support his passion of taekwondo. He has already achieved his Black belt in Team Tigers and a green belt in Juniors.
His dream is to compete at international level. The grant will enable him to develop his confidence and self-discipline to support his future sporting development.
The JTYAF supports young people from a wide range of youth organisations providing them with scholarships and bursaries to support their personal development and the pursuit of their ambitions.
The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation (JTYAF) was set up in memory of John Thornton who was tragically killed in Afghanistan in 2008.
The JTYAF provides opportunities for young people to help them to develop as individuals and fulfil their ambitions in life as John was able to do.
