The JTYAF was delighted to be selected for the second time as one of the recipient charities for the Barclays Strong Person 2016 Competition.
The competition was open to Barclays staff and with eight competitors it was a really exciting event. They were obviously in it to win it, but that said, there was such a fantastic display of camaraderie and sportsmanship, with each of the competitors applauding and supporting the others achievements.
There were six events ranging from the tyre flip to the car pull with the dead lift as the final test. Many personal bests were achieved on the day and our congratulations must go to all the competitors for their great performances. Special congratulations to Jack who took the Barclays Strong Man Trophy and to Celine who is now Barclays Strong Woman 2016.
Huge thanks to James Hind of Fitness Squared who helped to run the event and provided much of the equipment and also Asplan Chartered Surveyors who kindly sponsored Barclays Strong Person 2016.
Alan Groome was the driving force behind it all and we would like to pass on our thanks to him, his team, our JTYAF volunteers, Tracy and Joe and to all the competitors and spectators for an absolutely brilliant competition.
