A 14-year-old Air Cadet from Lyneham Squadron will be attending a Remembrance Camp this November, supported by the JTYAF. The camp is designed to commemorate the significant contributions of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women across all conflicts, with a particular emphasis on the First World War. This educational trip provides Cadets with a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of the complex history of the conflict and to reflect on its lasting and profound impact on those who lived through it.
During the camp, the Cadets will visit a range of significant historical sites, including the Somme memorials, Commonwealth War Grave cemeteries, and key First World War battlefields. These visits are intended to create a connection to the past, honouring the immense sacrifices made by so many.
