The JTYAF was honoured to be chosen as one of the supported charities for the recent Hearnes Ferndown Firework Event. This fantastic community event, organised by FunFest Events, was an outstanding success on every level.
Since 2010, the JTYAF has proudly supported over 230 young people, covering not only the cost of fees but also providing essential equipment, ensuring that no one misses out on this valuable opportunity due to financial constraints.
We are delighted to share the impressive achievements of our 13-year-old award winner, who proudly represented England in trampolining at the prestigious Scalabis Cup held in Portugal this October.
The Cardboard Campout Challenge 2025, hosted by Ferndown Upper School Sixth Formers raised a staggering £10,095. A testament to these outstanding young people and their commitment and support of the JTYAF.
Thanks to the generous support of the JTYAF, 42 cadets will have the honour of representing both the RAF Air Cadets (RAFAC) and the Royal Air Force (RAF) at the Remembrance ceremony in Achiet-le-Grand, France.

The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation has supported the Cornerstone Academy with funding for the purchase of three 3-man tents. This will enable the school to offer Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions to a wider group of students, particulary those who may face fanancial barriers.
