Bournemouth Youth Marching Band

The Bournemouth Youth Marching Band (BYMB) is recognised as one of the largest and most accomplished youth marching bands in the South and Southwest, featuring some of the finest young musicians in the region.
Performing in a traditional military style, the band takes part in concerts, band tattoos, arena displays, carnivals, parades, and ceremonial events, both across the UK and internationally.

For beginners, the BYMB Academy offers an entry point into the band. The ensemble comprises brass, woodwind, percussion, snare drums, bell lyres (glockenspiels), and bugles.

The JTYAF is delighted to support the BYMB as a new initiative for 2026. This support includes funding for instruments for new beginners and covering subscription fees for young people from disadvantaged families.

Musicians will be assigned instruments by the BYMB, and there is no application process directly via the JTYAF.
