We are extremely grateful to all the team at Mags4Dorset for a fabulous year of support. They selected the JTYAF as their ‘Charity of the Year’ for 2019 and gave us our very own column in both Mags4Dorset and the Viewpoint magazine.

Our supporters take on all manner of crazy challenges to raise funds for John’s Foundation and Paul Hartley is no exception

Our biggest  event of the year is our VIP Hospitality Day at the Bournemouth Air Festival and this year’s event was a huge success raising more than £3000 for the JTYAF.

We had two teams for this year’s Dorset Plane Pull and they pulled a Boeing 737 weighing in at 35,500Kg 50 metres against the clock and battling it out against 35 other teams too.

We were delighted to be the recipient charity for a Ferndown Rotary Ascot Ladies Day Event which was a huge success. 

The John Thornton Pram Race was a fantastic event and the teams this year showed a great sense of fun and imagination with their prams and fancy dress.

Paul Hooker organised another great day at Holbury Lakes Trout Fishery.

The Qualified Air Cadet Junior Leaders (QJLs) on Course 20 are pictured above at their graduation dinner at the Lynford Hall Hotel. This outstanding group of young people raised an incredible £25,000+ for the JTYAF and we can’t thank them enough for their continued support of John’s Foundation.

Charlie Pellat, President of Ferndown Rotary Club, kindly selected John’s Foundation as his charity of support for 2018/19. We are extremely grateful to Charlie and have been overwhelmed by the support that we have recieved.

Martyn Lever and 11 of his Crossfit Bournemouth members are taking on the distance of the Tour of Britain in just 24 hours for the JTYAF.

Huge thanks to Paul Hooker for organising the 4th JTYAF Curry Night at the Cinnamon Lounge, Woodlands. It was a really enjoyable evening, with delicious food, great company and it was an incredibly successful fundraiser too. A record £729 was raised on the night!

The Junior Leaders on the 2019 course have organised an enormous variety of fundraising events, from skydives, to leg waxing, and many have taken on extremely tough physical challenges, with hundreds of miles cycled, walked, climbed, and run.

Sainsbury’s Ferndown donate £8000 to the JTYAF following the charity’s year in partnership.

Huge thanks to 149 (Poole) Squadron Air Training Corps who recently organised a sponsored walk to raise funds for the JTYAF.
