NASA & Much More in Florida

Six students from Victoria Education Centre, many of whom have life limiting conditions, have been given a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Florida in 2017.

The students will get to have an astronaut training experience; go to the Kennedy Space Centre and Cape Canaveral; go behind the scenes at a wildlife refuge and learn about environmental conservation at a theme park. They will also get to look at the night sky through a giant telescope at NASA’s observatory and have dinner with an astronaut!

The students will use the trip towards the residential section of their Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award.  They have worked extremely hard to overcome many barriers to achieve their Bronze and Silver awards and this trip will not only complete their D of E Gold but will also provide opportunities for them to develop many life skills including socialisation, independence and team working and help them to sets their sights for the future.

The JTYAF is privileged to be able to contribute towards this experience and we can't wait to hear all about it!
